Come icona del segno del Toro scelgo Bono Vox, che sia come leader degli U2, sia come attivista, attraverso la musica e grandi opere di beneficenza, affronta temi politici e sociali, a partire dalla guerra civile irlandese fino all’attuale situazione pandemica, esprimendo quindi il miglior potenziale del Segno.

La straripante energia primaverile inaugurata dall’Ariete entra in una fase in cui l’impulsività cede il passo alla costanza.
Così come i semi mettono le loro radici e si stabilizzano e la natura si espande, per analogia il Toro esprime quell’humus fertile della terra che trattiene, feconda e crea. Suo Pianeta Maestro è Venere, ma non più la dea che nella Bilancia si esprime attraverso l’armonia e il senso del bello.

La Venere che impera nel segno del Toro è sensuale, carnale, terrena e genitrice. Nell’antica arte alchemica, che individua corrispondenze fra Pianeti e Metalli, al pianeta Venere corrisponde il rame, che per la sua duttilità indica bene un lato della natura del Toro, tendenzialmente adattabile e capace di creare legami. Il rame incarna l’aspetto dell’amore e della lussuria, ma simboleggia anche la creatività, la cura e l’equilibrio. Si dice che favorisca la guarigione delle ferite, utile per il Toro che tende a trattenere le impressioni e le emozioni che più lo segnano.

Il suo glifo, un cerchio con una mezzaluna, rappresenta la testa di un bue o la ruota di un carro antico trainato da buoi. Qui riassume il suo aspetto e si unisce a lei, e da questa unione nascono tre figli. E Zeus colloca allora in cielo il segno del Toro.

Protagonista dell’altro mito è Minosse, che in lotta coi fratelli per il regno di Creta, prega Poseidone di far sorgere dalle acque un toro come segno del suo potere, per poi sacrificarlo. Ma il toro è così bello che egli vuole tenerlo per sé, e al suo posto sacrifica un toro comune. Il dio Poseidone si infuria, e per punizione comanda al toro di devastare tutto il territorio. Il mito continua con la storia della bella Pasifae, moglie di Minosse, che si invaghisce del toro e si unisce a lui. E dall’unione nasce il Minotauro, mostruosa creatura dal corpo umano e dalla testa taurina, da cui si genera il mito del toro che abbonda di furore, violenza e sangue.

Le caratteristiche principali del segno del Toro sono dunque la stabilità, il rimuginio mentale, l’attaccamento agli affetti familiari, la fedeltà ma anche la gelosia, il senso del possesso, la collera. Le amicizie sono importanti solo se solide e di lunga data, che diventano famiglia a loro volta. È un conservatore poco incline a cambiamenti e imprevisti: se ha un programma da realizzare, lo segue con un attaccamento e una resistenza perseverante e ostinata.

Se ferito nell’anima, le cicatrici del segno del Toro sono segni che gli si tatuano addosso, sanandosi molto lentamente, per poi riaprirsi improvvisamente e inaspettatamente. Il Toro è questo: quiete e tempesta.

La sfida principale del Toro è quella di trascendere dalla materia a cui è così attaccato, e utilizzarla come strumento di aspirazioni e realizzazioni non solo egoistiche.

Spesso però l’insicurezza sul piano materiale gli rendono difficile questo passaggio, ma se riesce a trasformare il suo atteggiamento verso la materia, che in lui è anche gelosia, voluttà e collera, allora riesce a liberarsi da ogni giogo, e a far emergere l’amore verso se stesso e verso gli altri.

Come canta Bono Vox nella canzone che ha dedicato all’Italia e ai medici che combattono il Covid 19,

“Though your heart is overthrown. Let your love be known”,
“anche se il tuo cuore è devastato, fai conoscere il tuo amore”.

E così ha fatto, concretamente, con una donazione di ben 10 milioni di Euro in Irlanda per sostenere la sanità irlandese.

Zeus saw her and turned into a bull dressed with a mantle of different colors and his horns adorned with garlands, saffron-scented breath and a persuasive call. He convinced her to climb on his back and took her to Crete. There he summed up his real appearance and joined her. From this union three children were born, and Zeus placed the sign of a bull, the Taurus in heaven.

The protagonist of the other myth is Minos, who in struggle with his brothers for the kingdom of Crete, begged Poseidon to raise a bull from the waters as a sign of his power, that he must sacrifice. But the bull was so beautiful that he wanted to keep it to himself, and instead he sacrificed a common bull.

The god Poseidon became enraged, and as punishment commanded the bull to devastate the whole territory. The myth continues with the story of the beautiful Pasiphae, wife of Minos, who fell in love with the bull and joined him. From this union the Minotaur was born, a monstrous creature with a human body and a bull head, that generates the myth of the bull that abounds with fury, violence and blood.

The main characteristics of the Taurus are therefore stability, mental overthinking, attachment to family affections, fidelity but also jealousy, sense of possession, anger. Friendships are important only if solid and long-standing, which become family in turn. He is a conservative who is not inclined to change and unforeseen: if he has a program to implement, he follows it with a persevering and stubborn attachment and resistance.
