Gioiello devozionale: la mostra ‘Pensieri Preziosi’ a Padova fino al 5 febbraio

Fino al 5 febbraio 2023, in onore della diciassettesima edizione di Pensieri Preziosi, ottantacinque artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo presentano al pubblico la loro interpretazione del gioiello devozionale in un periodo tumultuoso per tutto il mondo. La mostra Pensieri Preziosi è la rassegna dedicata al gioiello contemporaneo e ha luogo nell’Oratorio di San Rocco di Padova.

Quest’anno, gli artisti invitano il pubblico a confrontarsi con tematiche coinvolgenti a livello privato e pubblico, che risuonano con le esperienze di giovani, adulti e anziani in Europa e oltre gli oceani, temi come la separazione, il ricordo, il lutto e la consolazione.

La nozione del gioiello devozionale contemporaneo è strettamente connessa a concetti d’identità e di esperienza, importanti da sviluppare dopo anni di distanza tra cittadini e confini nazionali così geograficamente vicini. Il gioiello devozionale contemporaneo contiene una memoria affettiva, un legame alla devozione religiosa e alla tradizione, al rapporto tra comunità creato da una certa devozione.

Nel contesto della mostra, mantenendo i legami tradizionali presenti nella storia del gioiello devozionale contemporaneo, l’attenzione è focalizzata sulla sensibilità dell’individuo, il mondo in cui si collega e si identifica con l’altro o con la perdita dell’altro, e come ciò può essere rivelato attraverso l’arte.

Attraverso la materialità del gioiello sono emanate emozioni, difficoltà transnazionali e un tentativo al dialogo comune tramite il medium artistico. La mostra è curata da Mirella Cisotto Nalon, nota esperta di gioielleria contemporanea, in collaborazione con Maria Rosa Franzin dell’Associazione Gioiello Contemporaneo (AGC). L’idea è stata presentata da Elena Alfonsi, studiosa di tanatologia culturale e di storia della critica d’arte.

Gli artisti, provenienti da sessantanove Paesi diversi, raccontano storie che intrecciano emotività e tecnica, così da sottolineare il vissuto di ciascuno nel vivere esperienze comuni, e il significato che queste ultime creano attraverso paesi.

Con l’obbiettivo di re-immaginare in modo innovativo la relazione tra gioiello e sensibilità e arte e dialogo, Pensieri Preziosi offre uno spazio di scambio ad un pubblico europeo e internazionale.

Devotional jewel: the Precious Thoughts exhibition in Padua until 5 February

The exhibition dedicated to devotional jewelery explores themes such as mourning, consolation and separation. Jewels that intertwine emotion and technique.

Until the 5^th of February 2023, in honor of the 17th edition of Precious Thoughts, eighty-five artists from around the world present to the public their interpretation of the devotional jewel in a period that of tumult for the whole world. The exhibition “Precious Thoughts” is the exhibition dedicated to contemporary jewelry and takes place in the Oratory of San Rocco in Padua. This year, the artists invite the public to engage with themes at the private and public level, which resonate with the experiences of young people, adults, and the elderly in Europe and across oceans, such as separation, memory, mourning, and consolation.

The notion of the Contemporary Devotional Jewel is closely bound to concepts of identity and experience, important to develop after years of distance between citizens and national borders so geographically close. The Contemporary Devotional Jewel encompasses an affective memory, a link from religious devotion and tradition, to the relationship between communities created by a certain devotion. In the context of the exhibition, maintaining the traditional ties present in the history of the Contemporary Devotional Jewel, the attention is focused on the sensitivity of the individual, the world in one binds themselves to another and identifies to the other or to the loss of the other, and how this can be revealed through art.

Through the materiality of the jewel are emanated emotions, transnational difficulties, and an attempt at common dialogue through the artistic medium. The exhibition is curated by Mirella Cisotto Nalon, a well-known expert in contemporary jewelry, in collaboration with Maria Rosa Franzin of the Contemporary Jewelry Association (AGC). The idea was presented by Elena Alfonsi, a scholar of cultural thanatology and the history of art criticism.

The artists, coming from sixty-nine different countries, tell stories that intertwine emotion and technique, in order to emphasize the experience of each in living common experiences, and the meaning that the latter creates through countries. With the aim of re-imagining in an innovative way the relationship between jewelry and sensitivity and art and dialogue, Pensieri Preziosi offers a space for exchange to a European and international audience.
